Abstract

The increase in the number of housing units in Ciherang Bogor is very rapid. This densely populated residential condition causes the green open space (RTH) in the area, begin to decrease. The Graha Aradea housing complex is one of the housing complexes affected by flooding due to the lack of rainwater absorption. The environmental conditions used by sand mining cause water absorption or drainage to not function well, so that floods often occur that enter residential areas.  The existence of biopori activities in the environment can be a means of preventing flooding. This biopori hole is also used to store organic waste to make compost independently in every household. This activity was followed by nutrition education activities, as well as the practice of making verticulture. Nutrition education activities are an effort to make people aware of choosing healthy food for their families, how to process food, and introducing food that is cheap but has high nutritional value, such as moringa plants. From the activity of making biopori people are given awareness to be able to make their own compost, and the resulting compost can later be used for verticulture, growing plants easily and cheaply so as to reduce family expenses in terms of food. The results of this programs are in the form of reducing the impact of flooding, planting fruit and moringa plants, utilizing narrow land through verticulture, and raising community awareness to manage their nutrition, food, and waste independently through biopori.
